YOU can make a difference helping with our Windermere Foundation’s Senior Cheer Christmas Program! Bring the joy of Christmas to a lonely and poor senior citizen or disabled adult in Kootenai County, and celebrate in the true spirit of Christmas!
Last year over 150 Seniors and handicapped adults, living alone in our community, experienced the magic of the holiday season. These individuals are very low income. They live independently – in small apartments, and have little, if any, family support. Because of our program they had gifts to open, a holiday meal to eat, and a large and colorful box filled with food, household supplies, and personal care items. Every year we help seniors and handicapped adults who lacked a bed to sleep on, a chair and table to eat at, lamp to read by, stove to cook on. When we discover these needs, we fill them as well.
Sincerely, Pat Krug

There are 4 ways you can help.
1. Adopt a senior or disabled adult.
Purchase their requested items. These gift requests are usually very modest and include things like warm clothing, bedding, special foods or small household items. In addition to the personalized gifts that you provide, each senior or disabled adult receives a large box of food, household staples, personal care items, calendar, fresh fruit, and a ready to eat holiday meal.
Gifts will need to be purchased and delivered to the CDA, Post Falls or Hayden office by Wednesday December 10th.
If you would like to adopt someone, “adoption books” will be available at all offices beginning Wednesday, October 29th.
2. Make a tax deductible donation payable to: The Windermere Foundation
Any amount is appreciated! We have so many Seniors and disabled adults in true need and your contribution will help us purchase each of them a large box of food and much needed household and personal staples. Funds are also used to purchase a gift for anyone who was not “adopted”. We make certain that every senior and disabled adult will have a wrapped gift, purchased especially for them.
Donations MUST be received by December 10th.
